Release. Custom Charts Update, Sticky Filters, Test Priority Analytics, and More
Custom Charts UI Improvements
This time we enhanced the user interface for custom charts, which are based on search queries, to provide a better user experience.
Title for Queries: You can now add a title to the query within the chart, making it easier to understand and manage your data visualizations.
Enhanced Label Options: We've introduced different labels for queries, including alias, query, short query, titles, and numbers. This allows for more detailed and organized chart displays.
User-Friendly Design: These UI improvements make it easier to create, understand, and manage custom charts, providing a clearer visualization of your test data.
Sticky Filters for Enhanced Accessibility
We’ve addressed a common usability issue with long lists of test cases by making the filter panel sticky.
Persistent Filter Panel: The filter panel is now always accessible, even when you scroll to the bottom of a long list of test cases.
Improved Usability: Quickly access filters and the checkbox to manage the test list view without needing to scroll back to the top.
This improvement ensures a smoother and more efficient experience when managing extensive test case lists, enhancing your workflow and productivity.
Test Priority Filter in Project Analytics
We’ve added a new filter to our project analytics to help you focus on the most critical aspects of your testing efforts.
Test Priority Filter: Now you can filter project analytics by test priority, allowing you to focus on high, medium, or low priority tests.
Enhanced Insights: Gain better insights into the performance and status of tests based on their priority levels.
This new filter provides a more granular view of your project analytics, enabling you to prioritize your testing efforts effectively and make data-driven decisions.
Automatic Prepend of Test IDs in Feature Files (BDD Tests)
When writing scenarios in your Feature files, test IDs can be automatically added to each scenario. This feature significantly reduces the manual effort required to manage test IDs, allowing you to focus more on writing comprehensive and effective test scenarios. By automatically adding test IDs, we ensure a consistent structure across all your BDD tests. This consistency simplifies the process of matching scenarios with their corresponding automated tests, making it easier to maintain and update your test suite. This enhancement makes it simpler to automate your Feature files, facilitating a smoother transition from manual to automated testing.
You can enable it in Project settings: Open BDD project > Settings > Project > enable Automatically prepend test IDs to scenarios
Also. it can be applied in Suite view: Open BDD project > open suite > Extra menu button > Prepend Test IDs
Hide Automation Type in Project Settings
Based on user feedback, we’ve added a new feature that gives you greater control over test categorization by allowing you to enable or disable automatic 'manual/automated' labels. You can now enable or disable the automatic 'Manual' or 'Automated' labels that are added when creating a test. Define and apply your own tags to categorize tests, ensuring that your labeling system aligns with your specific needs and workflows.
This feature provides more control over how tests are categorized, allowing you to maintain a labeling system that best suits your project's requirements.
This option is available at the project level: open the project > go to Settings > Project > use Show automation type badges (manual, automated) toggle
Filters and Search for Run Group Archive
We’ve enhanced the Run Group Archive with new filters and search capabilities to help you manage and locate Run Groups more efficiently.
Search by Group Title: Quickly find specific Run Groups by searching for their titles.
Filter by Type and Date: Narrow down your search results by filtering Run Groups based on type and date.
Sort by Date and Name: Easily organize your Run Groups by sorting them by date or name.
Comprehensive Archive: The Run Group Archive contains all Run Groups from the project, providing a centralized location for all related data.
These improvements make it easier to navigate and manage your Run Group Archive, ensuring that you can find and access all relevant data efficiently.
Set Default Format for Copying IDs
As part of our commitment to enhancing test automation, we understand the importance of test and suite IDs used for matching tests. We are excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to set the default format for copying these IDs.
- Default ID Format: You can now define and set the default format for copying test and suite IDs according to your requirements.
- User-Friendly Toggle: Use the toggle to easily switch between different ID formats, ensuring consistency and precision in your test management workflow.
This feature helps copy IDs, saving time and reducing errors by maintaining a consistent format throughout your test automation tasks.
