Enhanced Labels Management: Required Labels, New UI & More Customization
Improved Label Management UI on Tests Page
We have redesigned the Labels Apply UI on the Tests page to improve usability and efficiency. Instead of a pop-up window, you will now see a sidebar when managing labels, allowing for a more organized experience. This update enhances visibility, makes label application quicker, and provides a better workflow for tagging and organizing tests within your project.
Required Labels and Custom Fields
We introduced Required Labels and Custom Fields for test cases. Now, you can ensure consistency in test documentation by assigning mandatory labels and custom fields through templates.
How it Works:
-
Templates as a Source of Labels and Custom Fields: Users can configure templates with predefined labels and custom fields that must be included in a test case.
-
Automatic Application: When a test case is created or edited, assigning a template automatically applies the associated labels and custom fields, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Consistency Across Projects: This standardization helps maintain uniformity in test case documentation, making filtering, reporting, and tracking more efficient.
Cross-Linking Tests and Suites with Previews for BDD
We introduced the ability to cross-link tests and suites in BDD projects. Now, when adding comments using #
followed by a test or suite ID, you can create clickable references. Clicking the link will open the test or suite in detail view, making navigation and traceability more seamless.
Self-Hosted GitLab Issue Management Integration
We have introduced the ability to link self-hosted GitLab issue management to Testomat.io, allowing users to connect their Testomat projects directly to their self-hosted GitLab instance for seamless issue tracking and test management within their private infrastructure. This enhancement supports on-premise GitLab deployments, ensuring data privacy and compliance with organizational security policies.
Customizable Test Export with Description-Based Columns
We have added the ability to customize tests export in Testomat.io, enhancing the flexibility of exporting test data. Now, when filling in the description sections (headings starting with "#" in the test description), the system will be able to generate additional columns in the exported spreadsheet. You can now easily tailor your exported test data to meet specific requirements and streamline your workflows.
PDF Viewer for Test Attachments
We introduced an integrated PDF viewer for test attachments, allowing users to open and review PDFs directly within Testomat.io without downloading them. This enhancement streamlines test documentation review, making it easier to analyze logs, reports, and related files in one place.
